As fears for war in Lebanon grow, please join us in lifting up the nation and the city of Beirut in prayer. SAT-7’s Lebanese TV studio is situated just outside Beirut so we are monitoring the situation closely.
SAT-7’s studio in Beirut was thankfully not affected by the strike in the Lebanese capital on Tuesday 30 July and all staff have been reported safe. Production is continuing as normal, but the situation is under constant review and contingency plans are in place should there be further escalation.
Many staff are feeling understandably shaken by the incident, so please pray for them at this time. Also lift up others in Lebanon, especially children, who are feeling fearful about what might happen next.
SAT-7 ARABIC programme Different Angle was live on air last week when the strike hit Beirut. The presenter and guests immediately stopped their discussion to pray for the situation. The channel’s Voice of the Church programme is due to go live on Friday afternoon with messages and prayers for the region. SAT-7’s Ministry Content Advisor George Makeen said it was important for the programmes to bring “a prophetic voice” at this time and connect with how people are feeling.
Below, watch a subtitled clip from Different Angle, which was live at the moment the airstrike happened:
On Friday, SAT-7 ARABIC’s live show The Voice of the Church aired with a powerful episode titled “Have Mercy.” The programme lifted up heartfelt prayers for Lebanon, calling on God for peace and help.
Broadcasting live from Egypt, the show featured guests from Lebanon via live calls, including residents, pastors, and priests, urging everyone to join in prayer for peace.
Please continue to pray for an end to the tension and violence in the region. We will bring more updates as we have them.
